Choosing a good name

  • Place + service + a helper word reads naturally, like lakewoodwaterheaterhelp.com.
  • .com first, then .net or .co if the .com is taken.
  • Never use a real company's name or trademark, and don't imply you're a licensed contractor.
  • Expect about $10 to $15 a year for a standard .com at most registrars; check the renewal price before you buy.

After you buy it

  1. At your registrar, add one DNS record: type CNAME, name www, value callposts.netlify.app. On Cloudflare, set it to DNS only.
  2. Forward the bare domain (yourdomain.com) to https://www.yourdomain.com using the registrar's URL forwarding.
  3. In CallPosts, open SEO sites, choose your site, enter www.yourdomain.com under “Find or connect your own domain” and click Connect. HTTPS is set up automatically.
